Jim came to Washington, D.C. in 1979 to launch his career in informational broadcasting. Through a series of production management positions, Jim landed the role of Director of Production - Washington, D.C. for what became CNN in 1980. At CNN Jim led a team of engineers and producers in developing what was then unheard of - 24 hour network news delivered to a growing cable TV audience.
 
During the 1980 presidential campaign Jim was the Producer/Director of the prime-time national broadcast political commercials for the Ed Clark for President campaign. In addition Jim was one of the Executive Producers for - Alternative '80 - the Libertarian Party's National Convention, the first interactive national convention delivered nationwide via satellite.
 
In 1984 Jim was named Vice-president and General Manager of Broadcast News Service, an independent news gathering company with bureaus and CNN contracts in Washington, D.C., New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Miami. In addition to his management responsibilities, Jim produced, directed and executive produced projects for a number of clients including - Twentieth Century Fox, M-TV, The Cato Institute, The Republican party and several PR firms.
 
In 1987 Jim accepted the position of Senior Vice-president, Operations and Production for WETA - PBS's flagship station in the nation's capital. At WETA Jim was responsible for a 75 person staff of technicians and production personnel, two television studios and a broadcast facility. Jim oversaw production of The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer - PBS' nightly network news broadcast, Washington Week in Review - the longest running public affairs program in the country, In Performance at the White House, A Capitol Fourth, Kennedy Center Presents and many live network specials and congressional hearings. WETA is the third largest producer of programming for the Public Broadcasting System.
 
In 1996 Jim founded the Web design and production firm Glick & Schneider (Webgas), whose clients included, The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, The American Psychiatric Association, The U.S. Department of Transportation, The Food Marketing Institute and The Cato Institute. Glick & Schneider was sold in 1998.
 
In the autumn of 1999 Jim became Executive Producer of Your Career Life, the nation's foremost live and Internet interactive radio show dealing with career management and employer/employee issues. Your Career Life was broadcast live from WMAL, the ABC affiliate in Washington, D.C. Sponsors of the program included, The US Mint, Raytheon, Litton-PRC, Price Waterhouse Coopers and the US Army.
 
In 2000 Jim joined Factoryzoo as Chief Content Officer. Headquartered in the Netherlands, Factoryzoo identified innovative individuals in large companies' employee populations using media and patented software tools. Subsequent to this identification, good ideas were developed into business models that gave birth to new services and companies. As Chief Content Officer, Jim was responsible for the company's media products, website, manuals, press relations and innovation seminars.
 
Jim is currently a director of versiontwo, a Dutch-based company focused on personal development. Through his association with The Resource Network, Jim provides consultation and management services on information design, the media, and business development to a wide array of clients from many industries. Jim's interests include playing his guitar at night for an imaginary audience, studying epistemology, ontology and metaphysics, and playing with his two children.
